The SOL platform (Online Dispute Resolution), also known as ODR, is the official European platform provided by the European Commission for the online resolution of disputes between consumers and traders operating in the European Union.
How to access the SOL platform
The platform is available in all official languages of the European Union and allows complaints to be submitted and tracked online:
When it applies
SOL may be used for disputes between consumers in the EU and traders established in the EU, relating to contracts for the sale of goods or the provision of services (including financial services) concluded online. Before submitting a complaint on the SOL platform, we recommend contacting us directly so that we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably.
How it works
- Register on the platform and complete the complaint form with the details of the dispute and supporting documents.
- The platform transmits the complaint to the named trader and helps both parties identify, by mutual agreement, a competent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) entity.
- The ADR entity manages the online procedure and communicates the solution within the timeframe provided for by the applicable regulations.
